CS2 is a soft-market sport with hard narratives. That mix produces the same bankroll damage every month. Here is what we refuse to do on the public card — and what you should watch for on tip sites.

Mistake 1: Betting every Counter-Strike match on the board
Not every league is the same product. Closed qualifiers, academy cups, and random "Series #N" events are noisy, thinly priced, and full of roster chaos.

Mistake 2: Treating map props like the main event
Map handicaps, round lines, and pistols are fun to tweet. They are also juicier and easier to overfit. If your "record" mixes match winners with map 1 −1.5, nobody can audit what you actually did.

Mistake 3: Lineup theater as the whole thesis
Stand-ins matter. So do role swaps. Chasing every rumor as a 3u hammer does not. If uncertainty is real, the honest move is often no bet — or an operator block — not a forced side with a paragraph of chemistry talk.
Mistake 4: Ignoring the price
"I love Heroic today" is not a bet. A bet needs a number. If GG.bet or Bet365 already priced that love, you may be buying a fair or minus-EV favorite.
Force the habit: model probability, recorded moneyline, edge. Same math as moneyline edge.
Mistake 5: Parlaying three "easy" favorites
Esports parlays feel free because the matches stack all day. The juice still compounds. If you want a process record, stick to straights. Baseball version of the math: why we avoid parlays.
Mistake 6: Sizing up after a red day
CS2 variance is loud. Flat units exist so one bad BLAST day does not force revenge tickets. Read flat unit betting in CS2.

- Zero plays allowed when nothing clears
